You Have Not Because You Ask Not James 4:2

I want to point out the featured photo scripture should not say “be careful for nothing” that would be careless to be careful of nothing.  It’s either a crappy translation or its a word change.  But rather the message is don’t fear and worry about things.  Just ask your Father God who will provide for us more so even than we provide for our little children.  And surely we should ask God for that which we need if we are feeling it.  It is not a command but rather a suggestion and reassurance.

James Chapter 4 at Blue Letter Bible

James 4:2-3  KJV

2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Faith in God means exerting the communication from one’s heart to get to know God better.  This includes asking for the things of faith and whatever else we believe we need.  Just like we would, as children ask our Loving Father for something we desire.  Isn’t this part of being “real”?  Is this not part of relationship skills?  Or maybe we are too proud and self sufficient to ask for anything.  Perhaps we are afraid the answer will be “no”.  Nevertheless relationships must include fellowship.  Lest we die and get taken up only to face a Creator who says to us “who are you?”

Hmmm well I do know this about lust, I got sober back in 2006 by going to rehab and Alcoholics Anonymous.  I believe several varieties of dark spirits left my body because simply they could not stay where they were not being entertained and fulfilled.
They call it clean and sober for a reason.  I was cleansed of certain oppressive spirits and deluded behavior patterns.

And just to let you know I carried these spirits around while born again.  That’s right.  How do I know I was born again?  Because many other worse spirits were removed from me at the time of my renewal.  “Clean” is a process.  We don’t usually get delivered of every spirit all at once.  Or maybe we do and we take back certain ones only to later finally let them go.

Healing and deliverance are part of being a Christian.  If you have not experienced these eye opening events you may be at the wrong place of worship.  Or you may not be reaching out to God with your whole heart.

NEVER EVER hold back and hide parts of one’s self thinking that God can be compartmentalized in our lives.  He knows and sees all of our heart.  When we hold on to certain aspects of us that produce guilt and shame we hold on to the darkness that can end up being the strong hold which takes us down. Let God have all of your heart no matter WHAT IS IN IT.  He knows anyway.  Your only hurting yourself by holding back.
I learned this the hard way of course.

AA nearly took me to New Age religion and kept me there.  However I did learn valuable lesson about judge the things which are not mine to judge.  There are many things about New Age beliefs that are valuable to Christians.  For instance I heard a preacher on a rampage against herbs and essential oils.  REALLY?  I must object especially when the three wise men took Jesus the baby the most valuable oils essential to our time and their time.   Frankincense and Myrrh.

I can’t stand it when preachers hack up the Bible and make God’s creation something evil just because Wicca’s seem to know more about our God’s creations namely natures value than we Christians do.  COME ON!

So then we fill up on processed foods and wonder why in the hell we are not healthy.  REAL FOOD should be part of the Christians walk and awareness.  DON’T YOU KNOW SATAN IS TRYING TO KILL YOU AND HE IS USING PROCESSED FOOD TO DO IT?
Ask for WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE and ask it NOW!
“My people perish for lack of knowledge”.  And now the bible reads “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”.  So don’t you think it might be a good idea to go ahead and ask?

A friend of mine believes it virtuous to ask for nothing.  Having faith that God will supply all that is needed.  However I don’t subscribe to that notion.  But rather see in the Bible that God’s profits and children have always had relationships with Him that includes requests.

JOHN 16:23–24
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
